Apr 2010 Prayer Meeting - The devil is here to steal

Apr 13 2010
We had a great worship today led by Ar Pui.

He took us into intimacy with God and to realize that Jesus came to the world not to condemn but to save.
He is here to save our lives and not to condemn us.
Therefore we should live our lives away from the condemnation that the devil has installed in us.

After the worship, Joesph shared his recent experiences in condemnation and frustration in hoping for big things to happen in his cell group and church zone. After waiting for 5 years, instead of seeing miracles happening, he became frustrated without really realizing it.

He wanted to force things to happen in church. He wanted to push events to happen but they weren't really happening. Joseph shared his experieing in being touched by God and repenting of all this. We might all be sharing the same heart in Jesus. We want things to happen in the marketplace. We want things to happen all around us but nothing much seems to be happening.

Instead of forcing things to happen, we should just wait. Wait for God to move.
And become the heart of the child. When we are young, we did not know where our parents take us. If our parents took us to the park, we would go into the park and get all busy with the swing and the slides. If our parents took us to a friends house, we would naturally find things to do and keep ourselves entertained.

Let's be simple in life.

God brought us to different places because he is our Father. We need not make things happen with our own strength. Relax. Enjoy and ask the Father what He wants to do.

In John 5:19
Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth. The son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.

After Joseph's sharing, Ar Yung went on to share a story with us.

A rich businessmen went to buy a house by the seaside, hoping to get some rest and tranquility during his retirement. He bought the appartment only to realize that every afternoon there were kids playing with coca-cola cans downstairs. As the kids kicked the metal cans, it created a lot of noise and great disturbance.

The businessman came up with a plan. He called all the kids over and told the kids that he enjoyed watching them play. He asked the kids to come back the next day and in return the businessman would give the kids $5. The next day he would do this again, and give double the money. The businessman did this until he finally gave $100 then stopped. He then told the kids that he did not have any money left but still asked the kids to come to play for him on the next day.

With no reward, the kids refused to play the game again for the businessman and went home vowing, never to play the game again.

The businessman then went home, sat on his chair and smiled to himself. "Finally, I can have the peace that I came here for".

In this story what actually happened was that the kids were actually robbed of their happiness and joy in kicking coca-cola cans. The businessman, with his plots and schemes actually came and deceived the kids from the joy in playing games in return for money.

The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy.
Sometimes as we are in the marketplace, the joy that we have actually gets taken away from us without us knowing about it. Therefore we need to pray for our lives and not let the devil's schemes work against us.

In the end Yung encouraged us to pray for each other and ask for a gift from God to bless the others. We all received gifts from God on that day and we had a great time with God and great fellowship with each other.
